As preseason camp is set to begin later this month in Las Vegas, UNLV head football coach Dan Mullen has appointed Mitch Singler as the program’s special teams coordinator. In fact, Singler brings extensive experience from both professional and college football.

Singler was promoted to coordinator after joining the Rebels in 2025 as a special teams analyst. He subsequently served as special teams assistant during the spring. Notably, his career growth in college athletics has been steady.

Prior to returning to college football, Singler worked in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders. Initially, he served as an offensive quality control coach beginning in 2022. Later, he worked as assistant tight ends coach.

Before relocating to Nevada, Singler coached at Duke University. He joined the Blue Devils in 2018 as an offensive analyst. This marked another important step in his college coaching journey.

Before moving to Durham, Singler spent two seasons (2016-17) in offensive quality control at his alma mater, Oregon State. An Oregon native, he was a three-year starting wide receiver at South Medford High School prior to attending Oregon State, where he lettered three times from 2009 to 2013, participated in three bowl games, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration marketing in 2014. This extensive college experience has certainly prepared him for his new role.
