Zuffa Boxing has landed the biggest signing in the young promotion’s history. The company announced Thursday that undefeated four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson has officially joined its growing stable. Adding one of boxing’s elite pound-for-pound fighters to Dana White’s ambitious promotional venture.

The signing gives Zuffa Boxing arguably its most accomplished active boxer and signals the company’s intent to compete for boxing’s biggest events and biggest names.

Stevenson made it clear that his goal under the Zuffa Boxing banner is simple: fight the best and become boxing’s top pound-for-pound fighter.

“Line them up, one by one, and I’ll beat all the top guys once I get them in front of me,” Stevenson said. “With Zuffa Boxing, I’m going to go after the biggest fights in the sport and I will become the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

The Newark, New Jersey native enters the partnership with an unblemished 25-0 record with 11 knockouts and world championships in 126, 130, 135, and 140 pounds.

Dana White Calls Signing a Massive Addition

UFC President and Zuffa Boxing co-founder Dana White praised Stevenson as one of the sport’s elite talents.

“Shakur is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world,” White said. “He’s 29 years old, undefeated and already a four-division world champion. This is a massive signing for Zuffa Boxing, and I’m looking forward to promoting this next fight.”

Stevenson’s arrival gives Zuffa Boxing another marquee attraction capable of headlining major pay-per-view events.

Coming Off a Career-Defining Victory

Stevenson’s stock has never been higher. His most recent performance came on January 31 when he dominated former two-division champion Teofimo Lopez by unanimous decision to capture The Ring Magazine and WBO junior welterweight championships.

The victory secured Stevenson a world title in a fourth weight class and vaulted him four spots on The Ring’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Devin Haney Superfight Gaining Momentum?

The signing immediately fuels speculation surrounding a long-discussed showdown with Devin Haney. Haney has also been heavily linked to Zuffa Boxing in recent months, and the two champions have already exchanged words publicly while reportedly agreeing in principle to meet at a 144-pound catchweight.

Haney, a three-division world champion and current WBO welterweight champion, would represent one of the biggest fights available for Stevenson. Should both fighters compete under the same promotional banner, negotiations could become significantly easier.

Zuffa Boxing Continues Building

Stevenson becomes the second reigning world champion to sign with Zuffa Boxing.

Ring Magazine cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia joined the company earlier this year. Giving the promotion championship-level talent in multiple divisions as it continues to expand its presence in professional boxing.

With Stevenson now officially on board and Haney reportedly close behind, Zuffa Boxing appears poised to become a major player in the sport.
