Trine Men’s Basketball Will Participate in the Inaugural Las Vegas Invitational

The Trine Thunder men’s basketball team will travel to Las Vegas over winter break. Trine is one of eight NCAA Division III programs that will compete in the inaugural NABC Division III Tournament in Las Vegas.

Trine will compete in Las Vegas alongside Chicago, Elmhurst, Emory, Keene State, Randolph-Macon, Redlands, and Wabash.

Trine and Randolph-Macon have each won an NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship in the past five seasons, while Elmhurst and Emory have reached the title game in that time. This inaugural tournament is comparable to the NCAA Division I Maui Invitational (formerly Maui Classic).

Trine is will play two games, on December 21 and 22, 2026.

The announcement was made while VanderWal led a Thunder Day Camp for elementary school athletes at Trine’s MTI Center.
