A First Judicial District Court judge will grant the state’s motion for a preliminary injunction against Polymarket. Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford announced this on Tuesday.

The judge indicated last week he will grant the injunction. A written order will follow.

Polymarket is prohibited from offering sports, election, or entertainment event contracts in Nevada. This is enforced while the state’s enforcement action continues.

Injunction Details

Polymarket, Kalshi, and Coinbase are enjoined from operating while the state pursues enforcement actions against them.

Crypto.com and Robinhood have voluntarily stopped offering sports, election, and entertainment event contracts to Nevada residents.

Ford has led efforts to address online prediction markets and their attempts to circumvent state law.

In December 2025, Ford co-led a coalition of 37 states and the District of Columbia in filing an amicus curiae brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. This brief defended states’ authority to regulate sports betting. He recently co-led a similar coalition in the Sixth Circuit.

In these cases, prediction markets argued that federal financial regulations enacted after the 2008 financial crisis preempt state gambling laws. Ford and the other states responded that Congress did not clearly or intentionally remove states’ traditional authority to regulate gambling, including sports betting. As a result, this authority remains within state police powers.

Nevada is a national leader in gaming regulation, with comprehensive licensing, enforcement, and consumer protection systems designed to address the risks of sports betting.
