Maxx Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowler, is one of the NFL’s most exciting edge rushers, but his performance alone probably won’t get the team into the playoffs this year. If the Raiders decide to trade Crosby, who almost went to the Baltimore Ravens earlier this offseason, they would likely try to get important players or picks to help rebuild the team.
A trade idea from Dallas Cowboys insider Bryan Broaddus suggests the Raiders could get a 25-year-old rising star wide receiver to help with their rebuilding.
“I would offer a one and (George) Pickens to the Raiders…I know Pickens was incredible last year, but the one thing that’s holding you back is this defense,” Broaddus said recently.
In Broaddus’ imagined trade, Pickens would give Fernando Mendoza a top-quality wide receiver for the near future. The former Pittsburgh Steelers player just had his best NFL season, with 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games.
Starting Mendoza off with a dependable receiver would probably boost his confidence as a young quarterback. While this trade might not happen before the 2026-27 season, a midseason deal including Pickens and Crosby is still possible.
