Premier Boxing Champions Unveils Four Title Fights to Launch New DAZN Era

Premier Boxing Champions is wasting no time kicking off its new multi-year broadcasting partnership with DAZN. On Thursday, TGB Promotions president Tom Brown announced four world title bouts. That will headline separate DAZN events between September 19 and October 17, signaling an aggressive start to PBC’s new streaming era.

While official dates and venues have yet to be revealed, every event will feature championship stakes as PBC begins a new chapter on DAZN. WBC junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora (24-1-1, 16 KOs) will defend his title against mandatory challenger Ermal Hadribeaj (23-0-1, 8 KOs).

Fundora enters the bout riding momentum after a dominant sixth-round stoppage of former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman in March. Standing 6-foot-5½, the towering southpaw believes PBC’s move to DAZN creates a clearer path toward the biggest fights available at 154 pounds.

“Now all of these big fights are the most realistic,” Fundora said. “We’re all on the same platform, so now’s the time. Jaron Ennis is the one calling me out, so he’d be the guy I want to face soon.”

Should Fundora successfully defend his title, potential unification bouts against WBA/WBO champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis, IBF champion Josh Kelly, or WBC interim champion Vergil Ortiz Jr. could follow.

Hadribeaj earned his mandatory position by upsetting previously unbeaten Bakary Samake in Germany earlier this year.

Brandon Figueroa Returns

WBA featherweight champion Brandon Figueroa (27-2-1, 20 KOs). Will make the first defense of his newly won title against former bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda (42-5, 23 KOs).

Figueroa captured the championship with a dramatic 12th-round stoppage victory over Nick Ball in Liverpool in February. Now looks to build momentum against the experienced Japanese veteran.

Kameda enters after a competitive majority decision loss to IBF featherweight champion Angelo Leo and remains one of the division’s most seasoned contenders.

Jesus Ramos Stays Busy at Middleweight

Interim WBC middleweight champion Jesus Ramos Jr. (24-1, 19 KOs). Will defend his interim status against unbeaten contender Meiirim Nursultanov (20-0, 11 KOs), who returns after nearly two years away from the ring.

Ramos captured the interim title with a unanimous decision over Shane Mosley Jr.. The winner is expected to either face WBC champion Carlos Adames or potentially be elevated to full champion should Adames move up to super middleweight.

Nursultanov has remained highly ranked despite his lengthy inactivity, making this one of the more intriguing matchups announced.

Jose Salas Makes First Defense

IBF bantamweight champion Jose Salas (17-0, 11 KOs) will make the first defense of his title against undefeated mandatory challenger Michael Angeletti (15-0, 8 KOs).

Salas won the vacant IBF championship with a seventh-round stoppage over Landile Ngxeke last December. Angeletti secured his title shot after overcoming an early knockdown to defeat Kenneth Llover in a final eliminator in Japan.

Should Salas retain his championship. A future showdown with unified superstar Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez could become one of boxing’s biggest lower-weight attractions.

DAZN Era Begins With Romero vs. Lopez

These four championship bouts follow the official launch of PBC’s new DAZN partnership. Which begins with Rolando “Rolly” Romero defending his WBA welterweight title against former two-division champion Teofimo Lopez on August 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

That event will air on DAZN Pay-Per-View. The DAZN Ultimate Package, and Prime Video PPV, marking the first major card under the new agreement. With multiple world champions now competing under the same broadcast platform. Boxing fans could finally see many of the long-discussed unification bouts become reality.

For PBC and DAZN, the message is clear the new era begins with championship boxing.
