UNLV Closes Strong in Fourth Quarter
UNLV used a dominant fourth quarter to pull away from Creighton and earn a 76–67 win Wednesday at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Lady Rebels entered the final frame tied at 52, but they opened with a 10–0 run that immediately shifted control. As a result, UNLV moved to 3–3 on the season with the win.
Creighton briefly grabbed a 54–52 lead to start the quarter. However, UNLV answered quickly with baskets from Meadow Roland, Jasmyn Lott, and Teagan Colvin. That burst created an eight-point cushion the Bluejays never recovered from.
Roland Posts Career Afternoon
Roland delivered the best outing of her UNLV career. She finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds, earning her fourth double-double on the year. She shot 9-for-13 from the field, added two threes, and hit five free throws. Her production inside helped UNLV outscore Creighton 34–20 in the paint.
Additionally, Colvin reached a career mark with 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from deep. She also led the team with five assists. Destiny Leo, Lott, and Aaliyah Alexander each scored nine points as UNLV recorded a season-high 18 assists.
UNLV controlled the glass throughout the afternoon. The Lady Rebels finished with a 41–31 rebounding edge and held Creighton to only three second-chance points.
Milestones and Momentum
Leo also delivered a signature moment, scoring her 2,000th career point during the first half. She entered the game six points shy of the milestone and now sits at 2,003 for her career.
Creighton, now 1–4, had four players in double figures and was led by Kennedy Townsend’s 17 points. The teams traded the lead 10 times and were tied eight times. However, UNLV’s fourth-quarter surge eventually decided the contest.
UNLV returns to the Thomas & Mack Center on Friday, Nov. 28, to face Northern Iowa in the finale of the UNLV Thanksgiving Turkey Tip-Off at 2:30 p.m.
