The Carolina Hurricanes will play the Florida Panthers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final on Saturday at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. The puck will drop at 5 p.m. PST.
The Panthers lead the series 2-0 after dominant victories of 5-2 and 5-0. Carolina has now lost 14 consecutive conference finals games, including six losses to the Panthers in the current playoffs.
In Game 2, the Panthers surged ahead quickly. Gustav Forsling scored just 77 seconds in, followed by Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett, making it 3-0 by the end of the first period.
Following Bennett’s late goal in the second, Carolina switched goalies, pulling Frederik Andersen for Pyotr Kochetkov, who has been confirmed as the starter for Game 3.
Florida has outscored Carolina 10-2 in two away games in this series. Kochetkov, who replaces Andersen after his successful stint in the previous series. He has a postseason record of 1-0-0, while Sergei Bobrovsky is 10-4-0 with a 2.13 GAA.
In a surprising twist, the Panthers (-145) are only moderate favorites despite their strong performance.
