The ongoing negotiations for a potential superfight between Devin Haney and Gervonta “Tank” Davis have taken another public turn. After reports surfaced of a proposed 70-30 financial split in Davis’ favor, Bill Haney fired back on social media, rejecting the terms and revealing what Team Haney says it is prepared to offer.
Bill Haney made it clear that Team Haney has no interest in accepting what it views as a one-sided deal. “We already turned down 50/50 of nothing with PBC,” Bill wrote on X. “70/30 of nothing is even worse.”
He then laid out a counteroffer from Devin Haney Promotions. “DHP guarantees Tank 55/45 with a $15 million guaranteed purse for both fighters. Match it or stay off my jack.”
Team Haney Makes Its Offer Public
According to Bill Haney, the proposed deal would give Davis the larger side of the split at 55-45 while guaranteeing both fighters $15 million. That public offer shifts the conversation away from trash talk and into business terms.
For Team Haney, the message is clear: they are willing to give Davis the financial edge, but not at the level reportedly proposed by Davis’ side.
Devin Haney Reacts to Davis Side
Earlier Friday, Devin Haney claimed Davis’ team had reached out through Al Haymon with a 70-30 proposal. Haney responded by saying he would move on from Davis and did not want to do business under those terms before later deleting the posts.
The back-and-forth intensified after Davis associate Gmoney suggested Haney needed to respond quickly before Davis moved on to another opponent.
Superfight Still Within Reach
Despite the public frustration, the fact that both sides are discussing numbers suggests the fight remains possible. Haney and Davis have circled each other for years, and a matchup between the unbeaten WBO welterweight champion and one of boxing’s biggest knockout stars would immediately become one of the biggest fights in the sport.
Now the question is whether Davis’ side is willing to respond to Team Haney’s counteroffer or whether both fighters once again move in different directions.
