The Las Vegas Raiders have officially found their new head coach and general manager.

On Monday, Pete Carroll and John Spytek held their introductory press conference as the head coach and general manager of the Raiders at Intermountain Health Performance Center.

While the decisions on Spytek and Carroll were made on Wednesday and Friday, respectively, this is the first time Raiders fans got to see both as members of the Raiders organization.

“This special day is unique, for so many reasons,” said Carroll in his opening statement. “I’m so fired up to be here with John. We are going to partner in this thing and its so important that we have a good relationship.”

During the press conference, the two gave key insights to what their vision of the Raiders is going to be, particularly emphasizing that a love of football is going to be a pillar of what they build in Las Vegas.

“If you want to be on a great team, you need to be a great team mate,” said Carroll on the type of players he wants to bring into the organization.

“I don’t do things like everyone else…if you don’t want to compete, you’re in the wrong place.”

“If you love football, there will be a place for you,” added Spytek.

Carroll also made it a point to acknowledge that he and Spytek are sharing the responsibilities as far as building the roster, while also leaning on Raiders minority owner Tom Brady’s input in the quarterback decision.

Carroll also showed his support for Brady, praising principal owner Mark Davis for bringing the future Hall of Fame quarterback into the decision-making process.

“When Mark figured out how to put Tom Brady in this mix, and bring that kind of value into it, Mark made a great move,” said Carroll.

“He’s been intricately involved, he has been a really exciting part of it. It’s exciting to me because he’s one of the greatest competitors that has ever lived. But this is his opportunity to put his stamp on a franchise.”

In a public show of support, star defensive end Maxx Crosby and former Seahawks and Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch were in the building for the press conference.

The two made a strong first impression with this press conference, and the two will now work to build off of that positive momentum.
