Randy Moss has finally spoken on his health issues.
On Friday, Moss revealed that he was recently diagnosed with cancer via a live broadcast on his Instagram. He had undergone a surgical procedure and was in the hospital for six days. While he will still have to undergo further treatments, Moss expressed positivity that he would return to full health.
“I did have cancer,” Moss said. “They found it in the bile duct, right in-between the pancreas and the liver. So my doctors … they went in, I had a six-hour surgery. Dr. [John] Martinie, you’re the man, I had a Whipple procedure. I am forever grateful.”
Moss, who currently works for ESPN as an analyst on the network’s Sunday Night Countdown show, stepped away from his duties last week to address what was then described as a “personal health challenge.” On Dec. 6, ESPN released a statement to confirm the news.

Moss said that he wanted to go on Instagram to update fans on his condition and thank them for their support as he navigated the challenges.
“I just wanted y’all to see that I did bounce back, but there’s a lot of people out there that is either battling cancer or has had cancer in their family that people are fighting,” Moss said. “Things took the turn for the worst … y’all best believe your boy came through.”
Moss was also wearing merchandise saying “Team Moss” and “Let’s Moss Cancer,” which can be found on his newly launched website in order to raise money to fight cancer.

While Moss was mostly positive, he did allude to when Larry Fitzgerald Sr. posted his initial liver cancer diagnosis on X without his or his family’s consent.
“I told you guys that I was going through something and I needed your prayers. There was a few people out there trying to be doctors,” Moss said.
With his condition stable, Moss is now pushing to get back on ESPN as soon as possible.
In what has been a whirlwind week for the legendary wide receiver, it is good to see him back and in high spirits.
