The family of Randy Moss is now getting involved in the latest controversy surrounding the legendary wide receiver.
On Tuesday, in a since-deleted post on X, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., a sports reporter and father of former Arizona Cardinals star receiver Larry Fitzgerald, posted a concerning update on Moss’s current health issues.
“66th NFL Hall of Fame Ceremony here in Las Vegas just heard that Vikings HOF Randy Moss has liver cancer. Let’s show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this..I love you Randy,” Fitzgerald Sr. wrote.
After the news broke, Moss’s son Thaddeus responded directly to the post, slamming Fitzgerald Sr. for posting about his father’s health without his or his family’s consent.
Moss further pushed back on the report by responding to quarterback Brett Favre sending support, stating that it was false and that his father would reveal the information when he was ready.
On Friday, Dec.6, it was announced by ESPN that Moss would be stepping away from his role as analyst on Sunday NFL Countdown to focus on his health. Neither Moss nor ESPN specified what exactly the issues were.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared a statement from ESPN on X about Moss taking his leave of absence.

News about Moss’s health issues started on Dec. 1, when Moss shared that he was battling something on an Instagram video prior to going on the air.
“Throughout the week of the holidays, your boy has been battling something internally,” Moss said. “I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessed hands on me and my family through these hard times.”
Moss has yet to comment on Fitzgerald Sr.’s post or the alleged liver cancer diagnosis as of Thursday morning.
The situation has taken an ugly turn, and what was once concern over the legendary receiver’s health matters has now evolved into a full-scale controversy.
