One of the best receivers in NFL history has received some scary health news.

According to Larry Fitzgerald Sr., father of former legendary Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, former Raiders wide receiver and all-time legend Randy Moss was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Moss had reportedly been dealing with health issues throughout the past week, and admitted as such during ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown show. On Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN released a statement saying that the Hall of Famer would be stepping away from his analyst duties to handle the matter.

Moss played for the then-Oakland Raiders in 2005 and 2006, but is best known for his tenures with the Minnesota Vikings (1998-2004) and the New England Patriots (2007-2010). A six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All Pro, Moss still holds the single-season touchdown record with 23 in 2007.

UPDATE: On Tuesday night shortly after the news of the diagnosis broke, in response to quarterback Brett Favre’s post on X offering support, Moss’s son Thaddeus responded by claiming that the diagnosis was not true, saying his father would address the matter when necessary.

Moss himself has yet to comment on the situation at this time.

This is a developing story. Updates will be shown when they are made available.
