The Vegas Golden Knights earned their 12th road win of the season with a wicked 3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes.
Vegas doesn’t play the Minnesota Wild until Monday, but they had themselves a WILD first period on Thursday night.
Jonathan Marchessault wasted no time in giving the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. He scored his 26th goal of the season just 19 seconds into the game. Nicolas Hague added another less than one minute later.

It took the Coyotes four minutes to finally get a shot on net. When they did, it was Jason Zucker (a Las Vegas native) with the tip-in — but Vegas still had a 2-1 lead.
Well, that is until Chandler Stephenson answered with a goal of his own two minutes later. He now has a goal in each of his past two games, and becomes the seventh VGK player to score at least 10 goals this year.

Through the first six minutes of action, Vegas already had a 3-1 lead, and Arizona only had two shots. Looking for an answer, the Coyotes replaced Connor Ingram with Karel Vejmelka — and then we had a game.
Despite an energetic start, the Knights couldn’t get past Vejmelka. He finished with 28 saves on 28 shots and helped keep the Coyotes in it. Clayton Keller provided some help with a third-period goal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the first-period lapse.
The Golden Knights are now 31-15-6 on the year. Their 68 points have them in second place in the Pacific Division and fourth place in the Western Conference — five points behind the Vancouver Canucks.

They’ve won seven of their past nine games and are currently on a two-game win streak after ending the Oilers’ 16-game win streak on Tuesday night.
What’s Next for the Golden Knights?
Their next game is on Monday (Feb. 12) against the Minnesota Wild. For those in attendance, Vegas will be hosting their Lunar New Year Knight — fit with Chinese dancing dragons and special performances from your VGK Cast.
The opening face-off is at 7 p.m. inside T-Mobile Arena.
