Vegas Golden Knights Unveil Plans for ‘Lunar New Year Knight’ on Feb. 12

The Vegas Golden Knights are celebrating the Year of the Dragon with their Lunar New Year Knight on Feb. 12.

The team unveiled their plans for the ‘themed knight’ in a press release on Feb. 8.

Chinese dragon dancers will be performing on the Allegiant Stage as fans arrive at Toshiba Plaza. Dragon dancers will also join the VGK Cast during their ‘March to the Fortress.’ Fans can take their photo in front of a VGK Lunar New Year logo on the concourse.

The Knight Line by Drumbots will cap the pre-game ceremony with a Lunar New Year-inspired performance.

Vegas is also welcoming several guests to the game, including hip-hop sensation Ez Mil and leadership from the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce.

The team launched a new line of Lunar New Year-inspired merchandise, now available at The Arsenal at City National Arena.

Of course, there’s also a game to watch — their first of three games against the Minnesota Wild this season.

Vegas hasn’t faired well against Minnesota since entering the league in 2017. In 22 regular season games, the Knights are just 10-11-1 against the Wild — and 1-2-0 in their past three meetings.

And then there’s the grueling seven-game playoff series in the First Round of the 2021 NHL Playoffs. Vegas lost Game 1, but won three straight to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Two devastating losses allowed the Wild back in it, but Vegas took Game 7 with a decisive 6-2 victory.

It’s never a dull moment between these two teams, and it continues in just a few days.

The game starts at 7 p.m. local time at T-Mobile Arena on Feb. 12 — but don’t forget about the pre-game celebration!
