The Blue Devils and Huskies will bring several compelling storylines to their NCAA Tournament rematch. Fans of NCAA basketball are sure to watch closely. By the way, the excitement of this matchup reminds us why the NCAA remains such a thrilling sports organization. This highly anticipated matchup is now officially scheduled.

Duke will face UConn again next season. While the stakes are lower, the matchup still offers significant stories connected to NCAA basketball. The matchup will take place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving Eve. It was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Sources indicate that planning for this NCAA game began months before the Elite 8 matchup, where the Huskies defeated the Blue Devils on Braylon Mullins’ last-second three-pointer to reach the Final Four. The upcoming battle is set to add another unique chapter to NCAA history.

The game is expected to compete directly with the Players Era Festival, held in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week. This will be the third edition of the event, with the field expanding to 32 teams and a new format anticipated. Details on the schedule, bracket, and format have not yet been announced. Last season, the NCAA championship game took place the night before Thanksgiving, continuing the tradition of exciting NCAA events.

Key Players

Both the Blue Devils and Huskies are projected to be Top 5 teams entering the 2026-27 season and will draw significant attention on game night. Duke will return several key players, including Cayden Boozer, Caleb Foster, Dame Sarr, and Patrick Ngongba, while seeking replacements for departing stars Cameron Boozer and Isaiah Evans. The Blue Devils also strengthened their roster by acquiring Wisconsin guard John Blackwell through the transfer portal, enhancing their position in NCAA basketball rankings.

UConn also retained key players, with Silas Demary Jr. and Braylon Mullins choosing to return rather than enter the NBA. Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed have completed their eligibility, shaping another NCAA season storyline.

The game will also highlight Nik Khamenia, a Duke transfer who joined UConn this offseason, facing his former team. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 5.7 points per game as a freshman with the Blue Devils. A tipoff time and television network will be announced later.
