LAS VEGAS – Adin Hill made 28 saves in the Vegas Golden Knights’ 1-0 victory against the Edmonton Oilers at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday.
“His game’s really come around. We’ve seen it in the last, I don’t know, seven, eight, 10, whatever it is, games,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “When he’s on, you need that guy to be the backbone of your team. We hope we don’t need him to stand on his head every night.”
Hill made 16 saves in the third period, which capped off his fourth career shutout. He is 5-1-1 in his last seven starts with a 1.71 goals-against average.
“I feel like just staying in my net more and more in the paint, kind of just catching my edges on my feet more often. Just making the game look easier,” Hill said.
Hill is under consideration as one of three goalies selected for Team Canada for the Four Nations Face-Off in February. He will find out on Wednesday if he made the team.
“I hope I can make the team. It’d be a dream come true,” Hill said. “You grow up as a child, kind of hoping you put on that sweater one day.”
