Tonight, the New Mexico State Aggies are hosting the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the final game of a Conference-USA triple-header.

Louisiana Tech

In the victory against MTSU, the Bulldogs amassed 551 total yards of offense, a significant increase from their previous high of 386 yards.

Sonny Cumbie’s team also outgained their opponents by 215 yards. The defense performed well, holding the Blue Raiders to 336 total yards of offense and forcing several turnovers.

Louisiana Tech has not allowed more than 361 yards in a game this season and is conceding only 4.7 yards per play.

Kolbe Fields, a transfer from South Carolina and LSU, leads the team with 5.5 tackles for loss and ranks second on the team in tackles with 31. The Bulldogs now have a 3-2 record against the spread this season.

New Mexico State

New Mexico State is currently 1-5 for the season and 0-3 in the league. On the other hand, Louisiana Tech is 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference after its 48-21 victory against Middle Tennessee State in its last game.

Louisiana Tech lost at home to New Mexico State last season and will play with only five days of rest, while New Mexico State will have six days of rest before the game.

The Aggies have lost their last five games but have shown significant improvement when playing at home in 2024.

They started the season with a 23-16 win against Southeast Missouri State in Las Cruces, but then suffered a 50-40 loss to New Mexico and a 30-24 loss to Liberty on the road, totaling a deficit of 109 points in three away games.

In their most recent home game against New Mexico, New Mexico State accumulated a season-high 474 yards of total offense. First-year head coach Tony Sanchez will be looking to replicate that success in the upcoming games.

The Aggies can rely on Seth McGowan and Mike Washington for a strong rushing attack, as the duo has combined for 772 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns.

Bulldogs-Aggies Best Bet

Louisiana Tech is the better team in this game, and its defense is exceptionally strong.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Bulldogs concede less than two touchdowns in this game, so I think Louisiana Tech will win this one easily.

The best bet in this one is Louisiana Tech to cover the spread at -11.5 points at -110 odds.
