Aces Sun
The Sun dominated the opening quarter, shooting 11-15 (73%) compared to the Aces 8-20. Kelsey Plum, who missed the previous game due to an injury, was a bright spot for the Aces in the first quarter, shooting 4-6 and leading the team in points with nine. Connecticut would lead 22-17 at the conclusion of the first quarter, with Brionna Jones scoring 8 points on 4-5 shooting.
In the second quarter, both teams struggled from the field, shooting a total of 3-26. One difference in the quarter was that the Sun made five more free throws than the Aces. At halftime, Vegas trailed by 12 points, 38-26, with Kelsey Plum leading the way with 16. A’ja Wilson struggled in the first half, scoring only 5 points on 2-7 shooting.
The Aces outscored the Sun 18-7 to start the third quarter coming within one 45-44 late in the third quarter. A’ja Wilson, who struggled in the first half, rebounded in the third quarter, hitting 4-5 for 8 points. Chelsea Gray also had a good quarter, hitting two large three-pointers and scoring six points.

The Sun made a late push, but Kelsey Plum sank a jumper to pull the Aces within three at 52-49 to conclude the third quarter.
The Aces trailed for the entirety of the fourth quarter until taking a 66-65 lead with 2:00 minutes left. This was Vegas first lead since the 6-minute mark of the first quarter, when they led 11-10.
Chelsea Gray delivered the game’s biggest shot with 18 seconds remaining, putting the Aces up four, and they went on to win 72-67.
Three Aces scored in double digits, led by Kelsey Plum, who had 27 points, 5 rebounds and knocked down 3 three pointers.

Brionna Jones led the Sun with 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Marina Mabrey scored 15.
On Sunday, the Las Vegas Aces will travel to New York to take on the Liberty. Tip off is set for 1 p.m. and it will be televised on ESPN.
