Despite a rough start, the Las Vegas Aces clinched a dramatic 77-75 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, with MVP contender A’ja Wilson sinking a buzzer-beater to secure the victory. Wilson led the Aces with 20 points and 18 rebounds, achieving her 18th double-double of the season. Despite a tough shooting night, making only 8-of-28 attempts, her game-winning shot ended the Aces’ two-game losing streak.

Kelsey Plum added 18 points and was instrumental in the final play, setting a screen that cleared the lane for Wilson’s decisive basket. Chelsea Gray nearly posted a triple-double, contributing 11 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, including one on Wilson’s game-winner.
Depth has been a challenge for the Aces this season, making Megan Gustafson’s performance a welcome surprise. The former Iowa star, in her first start of the season, scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including three 3-pointers.

The Aces held a 13-point lead before the Sky surged with a 12-2 run late in the game. Chennedy Carter, who had been shooting just 17% from beyond the arc this season, hit two crucial 3-pointers in the final minute, including one that tied the game with a second to go. Wilson then sealed the win for Las Vegas with her last-second shot. She had this to say about the win:
