The Dallas Mavericks will face the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals on Monday in Boston. They aim to secure their second win of the series and stave off elimination.
After losing the first three games, Dallas bounced back with a 122-84 home victory on Friday.
The Mavericks (50-32), boasting a 13-8 record in the 2024 NBA playoffs, have won seven 11 road playoff games.
Meanwhile, the Celtics (64-18), who saw their 10-game postseason winning streak end on Friday, have not lost consecutive games since the regular season.
Kyrie Irving
The last two games have marked a turnaround for Irving. In Game 3, he broke the 20-point barrier for the first time in these NBA Finals, scoring 35 points.
In Game 4, he added 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting. Although he was pulled from the game in the third quarter due to their substantial lead, he would have easily covered this prop had he continued playing.

Notably, he also ended his losing streak against the Celtics. With this momentum, Irving is poised to maintain his improved performance as the series returns to Boston.
Irving is one of the league’s top ball handlers and shot-creators. His explosive first step allows him to blow by defenders.
The Duke product can effortlessly score from anywhere on the court and is a crafty finisher in the lane.
Kyrie Irving talking to Charles Barkley about the negativity around the Mavs:
“Yesterday I was telling the guys [], just stay off social media. It’s not ok to just let other people’s opinions get into our locker room, and I feel like in my past I’ve allowed that to happen.” pic.twitter.com/3Sb41mArCx

During the 2024 NBA playoffs, he averages 22.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and five assists per game.
Irving tallied 21 points, four rebounds, and six assists in his most recent game.
Mavs-Celts Player Prop Bet
Despite his dazzling dribbling and remarkable shot-making, Irving’s offensive game is centered on his ability to penetrate the lane.
A 7-foot-2 Latvian, supported by a host of wing defenders, made that much more challenging.
This could be his last Finals game in Boston and, thus, Irving’s final opportunity for redemption from his second of three tumultuous departures from various Eastern franchises.
With Porzingis likely to miss a third consecutive game, Irving’s bid for this superficial redemption will be significantly bolstered.
I’d bet over Kyrie Irving’s point prop of 23.5 right now, all the way up to 25 points. The Mavs need him to play well in this game, and I think he answers some of his critics in Boston.
