The Las Vegas Aces have more basketball to play this week.

On Thursday, the Aces staved off elimination and knocked the Seattle Storm out of the WNBA playoffs with a 74-73 victory in Game Three at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

The game went down to the wire, with A’ja Wilson being a difference maker for the Aces. After winning a share of Defensive Player of the Year earlier in the day, Wilson exploded for a game-high 38 points. On top of that, she put up five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

While Wilson dominated for the Aces, the Game Three hero turned out to be none other than Jackie Young. With 12 seconds remaining in the game, Young cut through a sea of Storm defenders to put a Wilson miss back into the basket. It would ultimately be the game-winning shot, punching the Aces’ ticket into the second round.

Despite the excitement, a brief bit of controversy emerged from the game. During the Storm’s final possession, guards Erica Wheeler and Skyler Diggins each had a chance to get their team the final shot. While neither would be successful, the lights in the arena turned off before the clock struck all zeroes, prompting some reactions.

After the eventful affair, however, the Aces are secured a spot in the semifinals, where they will face off against the Indiana Fever.
