Jonquel Jones completed the WNBA’s full MVP collection Saturday night.
Jones finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists as Team Spoon defeated Team Coop 129-122 at United Center. She earned WNBA All-Star Game MVP honors after previously winning regular-season, Finals and Commissioner’s Cup MVP awards.
The announced crowd of 19,783 was the largest attendance ever for a WNBA game.
Team Spoon also earned $70,000 for Girls in the Game, a Chicago organization that offers sports, health and leadership programs for youth. Team Coop earned $30,000 for Angels Athletics, which helps girls build confidence and skills through sports.
Open gym energy
Team Spoon took a 35-34 lead after a free-flowing first quarter.
Caitlin Clark scored 11 points, while Marina Mabrey answered with 17 off Team Coop’s bench. A’ja Wilson added six points for Team Spoon.
Jackie Young recorded an assist and a defensive rebound during her opening minutes. Meanwhile, Becky Hammon coached Team Coop alongside Aces assistants Charlene Thomas-Swinson, Larry Lewis, Ty Ellis and Nola Henry.
Defense remained mostly optional. Hammon captured the mood between quarters.
“We don’t need a score. We need some defense.”
Dunk and embrace
Dominique Malonga delivered the night’s first signature moment in the second quarter.
Malonga took an Angel Reese assist and finished a driving dunk. It was the first dunk in a WNBA All-Star Game since Sylvia Fowles did it in Chicago in 2022.
Wilson then supplied one of the game’s few firm defensive stops. She blocked Reese at the rim, then the two immediately shared a smile and a hug.
Team Spoon closed the half on a 10-0 run. Courtney Williams beat the horn with a 25-foot runner, sending Team Spoon into halftime with an 81-64 lead.
Coop answers back
Team Coop responded after halftime and won the third quarter 29-24.
Gabby Williams scored eight points during the early push, including two 3-pointers. Young later found Natasha Howard for a 3-pointer that cut the margin to nine.
However, Team Spoon answered behind Jones and Allisha Gray. Jones controlled the glass, moved the ball and added a 3-pointer.
Breanna Stewart scored late, but Team Spoon carried a 105-93 lead into the fourth quarter.
Jones closes it
Young opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer. Paige Bueckers and Kelsey Mitchell also helped Team Coop cut into the deficit.

Still, Team Spoon kept answering. Jones returned with a 3-pointer, then Olivia Miles stretched the lead with a deep shot.
Team Coop made one final push behind Bueckers and Williams. However, Jones finished Team Spoon’s scoring with a driving layup.
Team Spoon closed out the 129-122 victory, and Jones secured the only MVP award missing from her résumé.
Nneka Ogwumike also became the leading scorer in WNBA All-Star Game history during the night.
The game ended with more than a trophy at stake. Team Spoon’s victory directed $70,000 to Girls in the Game, while Team Coop secured $30,000 for Angels Athletics.
