HENDERSON, Nev. — Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has another major milestone to celebrate before the 2026 NFL season kicks off.
The 23-year-old Pro Bowl tight end announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Cameron Newell, sharing the news in a heartfelt social media post just days before the Raiders officially open training camp.
For one of the NFL’s brightest young stars, the offseason has become memorable for reasons that extend well beyond football.
Unlike many high-profile athlete relationships, Bowers and Newell’s story began long before the spotlight of the NFL. The couple met while attending high school in Napa, California, and have been together since 2020.
They attended prom together before continuing their relationship through college, with Bowers starring at the University of Georgia while Newell attended the University of Tennessee. Despite the long-distance challenge, the relationship continued to grow.
The Proposal
Bowers chose to propose in Napa, the city where their relationship first began. Photos shared by the couple showed the Raiders tight end down on one knee before Newell accepted the proposal.
According to reports, the emotional moment left Newell overwhelmed before she answered with a simple but unforgettable response. “Yes!”
In a joint social media announcement, Newell reflected on the special moment.
“The best surprise of my life… Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
She later added another heartfelt message.
“Getting engaged in Napa, where we first met, couldn’t have felt more right. I’m so lucky I get to do life with you. I can’t wait to marry you.”
Teammates Celebrate the News
The announcement quickly drew congratulations from across the football world. Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty was among those celebrating the couple, while friends and fellow athletes including Hannah Cavinder and Anne Michael Maye, the wife of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye also shared congratulatory messages.
One of the proposal photos was humorously captioned “The Bower of Love,” a nickname Bowers will likely hear plenty of from teammates once training camp begins.
Healthy and Ready for a Big Season
The engagement caps an eventful offseason for Bowers, who is entering what many believe could be a breakout campaign in Las Vegas. After rewriting the NFL record books for rookie tight ends with more than 100 receptions during the 2024 season, Bowers battled through injuries last year after being hurt in the Raiders’ season opener.
The lingering knee issue eventually required surgery, but Bowers has reportedly made a full recovery and enters training camp healthy.
