UFC middleweight contender Marvin Vettori has come under fire after posting an antisemitic tweet on X. In a since circulated message, the Italian fighter lashed out over media coverage, writing:

“F*** all these people, this s*** is getting out of hand, they control everything, f*** these Ashkenazi Jews that wants control over the world. Here I said it.”

The post, which Vettori has not deleted, quickly spread online, drawing condemnation from fans, media outlets, and Jewish advocacy groups.

Vettori’s Follow-Up Comments

In subsequent remarks, Vettori attempted to clarify his stance, insisting that he respects “real Judaism” and has Jewish friends. He argued that his criticism was directed toward what he described as a “Zionist agenda.” These comments, however, did little to quiet the backlash, with many observers labeling them as a continuation of antisemitic tropes.

Widespread Condemnation

The reaction from the MMA community and beyond has been swift. Media outlets across combat sports and mainstream press have called the statement unacceptable. Advocacy organizations have also spoken out, framing Vettori’s comments as part of a broader problem of hate speech gaining traction on social platforms.

This isn’t the first time UFC fighters have made headlines for inflammatory remarks on social media. Vettori now joins a growing list of athletes including Bryce Mitchell and Sean Strickland who have courted controversy with politically or culturally charged statements.

As of now, the UFC has not announced any disciplinary action against Vettori. Dana White has historically been reluctant to punish fighters for what they say outside the cage, emphasizing a free-speech stance.
