Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone earned the NHL’s First Star of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.
Stone led the NHL in points with eight (two goals, six assists) in three games to put the Golden Knights first in the Pacific Division.

He started his week with a three-point night, which included the game-winning goal against the Los Angeles Kings in a 6-1 win on Tuesday. Stone followed it up with a two-assist night in the Golden Knights’ 6-4 victory against his former team, the Ottawa Senators. He capped off his week with another three-point night (one goal, two assists) against the San Jose Sharks in a 7-3 victory on Saturday.
Stone’s performances put him atop the NHL in points (17), assists (13), and power-play points (seven).
Much of Stone’s production comes on the power-play and in five-on-five play.
He’s connected well with forwards Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev. The first line has a total of 14 goals and 30 assists.
Stone also plays well with forward Tomas Hertl, assisting on two of Hertl’s three power-play goals.
The question now remains can Stone stay healthy throughout an 82-game slate? He missed 65 games in the last two seasons with various ailments (back in 2022-23; lacerated spleen in 2023-24). This season looks the healthiest in three seasons.
If Stone remains healthy and continues to play at this high level, he could be on pace to earn his postseason accolades and lead the Golden Knights back to the NHL Playoffs.
