Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach Antonio Pierce finalized his coaching staff for the 2024 season — and it’s a crowded room.

The staff includes a healthy mix of experience. Former players, head coaches, coordinators, and even family — it has a little bit of everything.

Or, should I say, a lot of everything.

Including Pierce, the Raiders will enter the 2024 campaign with 32 coaches — including 12 on the offensive side of the ball and 10 on defense.

It’s one of the largest coaching staffs in NFL history.

16 of those 32 coaches are entering their first season with the team. The other half already have a history with Vegas, but four of them earned a promotion.

With the free agency period still three weeks away, let’s take a moment to meet the 2024 coaching staff Pierce put together.

The ‘Not Going Anywhere’ Crew

Headlined by Pierce, the Raiders have 12 coaches returning to the team in the same role they were in last season.

With that said, let’s meet the ‘not going anywhere’ crew:

Tom McMahonSpecial Teams Coordinator

Derius Swinton IIAssistant Special Teams

A.J. NeibelHead Strength and Conditioning

D’Anthony BatisteAssistant Strength and Conditioning

Deuce Gruden Assistant Strength and Conditioning

Rick SlateAssistant Strength and Conditioning

Retaining Bennett isn’t a surprise.

He was Green Bay’s wide receivers coach when they drafted Davante Adams in 2014 — the same year they hired Luke Getsy as an offensive quality control coach.

Bennett went on to serve as the team’s offensive coordinator for three seasons (2015-17), while Getsy eventually got promoted to wide receivers coach in 2016 and 2017.

Adams had his breakout season in 2016 with Bennett as his OC and Getsy as his WR coach. With Getsy joining the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this month, the three are now officially reunited.

Graham (defensive coordinator) and McMahon (special teams coordinator) are entering their third season with the team, while the strength and conditioning group remains unscathed.

The ‘Just Got Promoted’ Crew

The Raiders have four more coaches returning to the team in 2024, but not in the same role as last season.

Here’s a look at your 2024 ‘just got promoted’ crew:

Matt SheldonGame Management

Mitch SinglerAssistant Tight Ends

Fred Walker Assistant Quarterbacks

Matt FeeneyAssistant Defensive Backs

Sheldon spent the past two seasons as the team’s director of football research and strategy, but he’ll serve as the game management coach. With Pierce being a first-time head coach, Sheldon’s role is crucial.

Singler and Walker are also entering their third season with the Raiders. Singler was an offensive quality control coach, while Walker was an offensive assistant.

As for the defense, Feeney gets promoted from defensive quality control coach to assistant defensive backs coach after two years with the team.

The ‘Welcome to Sin City’ Crew

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for — the newest faces of the franchise.

There are 16 of them, but most of them had already been announced prior to being finalized.

Let’s take a look at this year’s ‘Welcome to Sin City’ crew:

Marvin LewisAssistant Head Coach

Marcus LewisAssistant Linebackers

Kade Rannings Assistant Special Teams

Philbin and Ma. Lewis are former head coaches in the NFL, while Caldwell and Scangarello have experience as coordinators.

Getsy, who spent the past two seasons as the Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator, influenced the hiring of Steckel and Zetts — both of whom were with the Bears last season.

This list also includes Antonio Pierce’s son, De’Andre, and a former Raiders’ player, Andre Carter, who played 12 games for the Raiders in 2012.

What’s Next for the Las Vegas Raiders?

With the coaching staff finalized, Pierce can turn his attention to the roster.

The NFL Combine begins on Feb. 27, they have until March 5 to use their franchise tag, the free agency period starts on March 13, and the NFL Draft is April 25-27.

It’s that time of the year!
