LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Raiders may be struggling to find consistency on the football field, but when it comes to the future of superstar defensive end Maxx Crosby, the organization reportedly isn’t interested in lowering its asking price.

Despite continued speculation surrounding Crosby’s future, the Raiders are believed to be seeking at least two first-round draft picks in any potential trade involving their franchise cornerstone.

According to NFL insider Jason La Canfora of Casino.org, an unnamed NFL general manager believes Las Vegas remains committed to the same asking price established during its previously agreed-upon trade with the Baltimore Ravens in March.

That deal would have sent Crosby to Baltimore in exchange for two first-round selections before the Ravens backed out because of concerns surrounding Crosby’s surgically repaired meniscus.

Now, with the NFL trade deadline approaching, questions remain about whether another franchise will be willing to meet Las Vegas’ demands.

Raiders Have Already Established Crosby’s Value

The reported asking price shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Raiders were previously prepared to move Crosby after receiving an offer of two first-round picks from Baltimore. Establishing what many around the league now view as the benchmark for negotiations.

One anonymous general manager told La Canfora that the Raiders would have a difficult time accepting anything less.

“They set the price already, really, didn’t they? They had two ones (two first-round picks) from (Ravens GM Eric DeCosta). So you can’t really act like he’s not available now,” the general manager said.

“I don’t think they take less than that. I’m not sure someone offers that; that was a reach by Baltimore … But he’s still a dominant player. The knee isn’t holding him back.”

Crosby, 29, remains one of the NFL’s premier defensive players and one of the few proven stars on the Raiders’ roster. His relentless motor, pass-rushing ability and leadership have made him the face of the franchise.

For a team attempting to establish a winning culture under first-year head coach Klint Kubiak. Trading Crosby would represent a significant decision with consequences extending well beyond the current season.
