What police say happened

Police said officers responded May 23 at about 8:37 a.m. to a disturbance complaint involving Jacobs. The release lists five charges: battery (domestic abuse), criminal damage to property (domestic abuse), disorderly conduct (domestic abuse), strangulation and suffocation and intimidation of a victim.

Jacobs denies allegations

Jacobs, 28, denied the allegations through his legal team. Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing. The department said it will not release more information at this time.

The Las Vegas connection

The Raiders drafted Jacobs in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, taking him 24th overall out of Alabama. The pick happened while the franchise still operated as the Oakland Raiders, even though the team later moved to Las Vegas. General manager Mike Mayock ran the draft room under head coach Jon Gruden, who led football operations at the time. Jacobs spent five seasons with the Raiders, then left for Green Bay in free agency in 2024. He authored his peak Raiders year in 2022, when he led the NFL in rushing and carried Vegas through the offense for long stretches.

What he said after leaving the Raiders

After signing with Green Bay in 2024, Jacobs said the coaching turnover in Las Vegas “felt like an emotional rollercoaster.” He said he wanted more stability.
