WASHINGTON, D.C. — Josh Hokit continues to turn heads in the UFC heavyweight division. The undefeated heavyweight prospect delivered the biggest victory of his career Sunday night, dominating and finishing longtime contender Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn of the White House.

Hokit overwhelmed Lewis from start to finish before securing a second-round TKO, improving to 10-0 as a professional and 4-0 inside the UFC. Afterward, he wasted no time calling out one of the biggest names in the sport.

From the opening bell, Hokit looked determined to make a statement. The outspoken heavyweight mixed kicks to the legs and head before quickly changing levels for a takedown.

Once the fight hit the canvas, it became one-way traffic. Hokit immediately began unloading ground-and-pound, repeatedly punching through Lewis’ defense while controlling position on the mat. Lewis, known for possessing some of the most devastating knockout power in UFC history, found himself trapped underneath a relentless assault.

Ground Domination Leaves Lewis Bloodied

The punishment escalated throughout the first round. A crushing elbow from Hokit split Lewis open as blood began streaming down the veteran’s face.

Every time Lewis attempted to work back to his feet, Hokit dragged him back to the canvas and resumed his attack. At one point, Hokit advanced to mount and unleashed another barrage before transitioning to an armbar attempt.

While he was unable to secure the submission before the round ended, the damage had already been done. Lewis appeared exhausted and battered heading into the second frame.

Second Round Finish

Lewis briefly found success early in Round 2 when he landed a series of uppercuts that disrupted another takedown attempt. It would prove to be one of his few bright moments.

Hokit immediately answered with a sharp combination that visibly hurt Lewis and left him stumbling. Recognizing the opportunity, Hokit increased the pressure.

Using dirty boxing along the cage, he repeatedly landed clean punches as Lewis struggled to defend himself. Moments later, Hokit unleashed another combination that sent Lewis crashing to the canvas. The referee stepped in at 4:09 of the second round to stop the contest.

The win improves Hokit to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the UFC. More importantly, it showcased another layer of his game. Known primarily for his toughness and aggressive style, Hokit displayed effective wrestling, dominant top control, powerful ground-and-pound, and finishing instincts against one of the division’s most recognizable names. With every performance, his stock continues to rise.
