PWHL Las Vegas announced the signing of its first goaltender, Nicole Hensley.

Hensley signed a two-year Standard Player Agreement ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season, becoming the seventh player on the roster.

The Colorado native played her first three PWHL seasons with the Minnesota Frost after being selected as the first goaltender (12th overall) in the league’s inaugural draft.

Hensley, 31, has played 38 regular-season games, posting a .910 save percentage, 2.46 goals-against average, 21 wins, and three shutouts.

She helped the Frost win consecutive Walter Cup championships and received the team’s 2024-2025 Intact Impact Award, described as “an honor bestowed upon one player from each team who consistently went the extra mile to help the team and be a great teammate by displaying exceptional leadership, integrity, and an unwavering commitment,” according to a release.

Hensley has represented the United States at two Olympic Winter Games, earning gold in 2018 and silver in 2022, and has won six IIHF Women’s World Championship medals (three gold, three silver).

PWHL Las Vegas previously signed defenders Erin Ambrose, Mae Batherson, Kendall Cooper, and Megan Carter to two-year contracts, as well as forwards Hilary Knight to a one-year contract and Hayley Scamurra to a three-year contract.

Batherson, Cooper, and Hensley reunite on PWHL Las Vegas after previously playing together with the Frost.

PWHL Las Vegas may sign one more player during Phase 3 of the expansion, which ends Friday, June 12 at 3 p.m.
