The Vegas Golden Knights handled the Utah Mammoth 4–1 on Thursday at the Delta Center, stretching their point streak to five games behind a dominant second period and a long-awaited scoring burst from Jack Eichel.

Eichel Breaks Through, Sparks Second-Period Surge

Vegas and Utah traded chances early, but the game shifted when Eichel snapped his nine-game goal drought at 3:09 of the second. He crashed the net after a rebound chance and buried an easy finish. The goal seemed to release weeks of pressure.

“You’re not going to get many easier than that one,” Eichel said. “It was good to see it go in and carry that into the rest of the game.”

Moments later, Ben Hutton doubled the lead with a snap shot for his second goal in as many games. The Mammoth responded at 6:48 when Nate Schmidt scored his first with Utah on a 4-on-4 sequence, but Vegas immediately re-established control.

Bowman, Theodore, and the Kids Keep Rolling

Eichel struck again late in the second, taking a feed from Braeden Bowman and finishing a clean breakaway to push the lead to 3–1. Bowman then added his own goal 45 seconds into the third, redirecting an Eichel pass at the front of the net.

Bowman now has three goals in five NHL games, making him the first rookie in Golden Knights history to start that fast. Head coach Bruce Cassidy said he’s impressed with the early consistency.

“It’s hard in this league as a young guy,” Cassidy said. “I’m surprised he’s been able to be this consistent on his first call-up. It’s a really good sign for him — and for us.”

A Structured, Complete Win

Akira Schmid stopped 25 shots and extended his own point streak to seven games. Vegas controlled the middle frame with strong puck management, quick breakouts, and the type of defensive support Cassidy has been calling for.

“It was a full team effort,” Eichel said. “We defended well and transitioned with speed. When we play like that, we’re dangerous.”

Vegas (10-4-6) will travel to Anaheim to face the Ducks (13-7-1) on Saturday.
