Vegas Takes Control Early

The Golden Knights vs Rangers matchup ended with Vegas earning a 3–2 win at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday. The victory snapped New York’s six-game road winning streak and continued Tomas Hertl’s strong run of play. He finished with two assists, extending his point streak to five games.

Braeden Bowman, Ben Hutton, and Shea Theodore scored for the Golden Knights. Akira Schmid made 17 saves and kept most chances to the outside. The Rangers answered with goals from Jonny Brodzinski and Vincent Trocheck.

Power Play Lifts Vegas

Bowman opened the scoring at 11:40 of the first period. He put away a rebound on the power play, giving Vegas early momentum. It was his second career goal in his fourth NHL game.

Hutton doubled the lead early in the second. His wrist shot slipped through Igor Shesterkin for his first goal of the season. Afterward, he said it “felt good” to contribute after a long scoring drought.

Rangers Push, but Vegas Responds

Brodzinski cut the lead to 2–1 midway through the second. He knocked in a rebound created by Will Cuylle on an odd-man rush. However, Vegas regained control in the third.

Theodore scored a power-play goal at 7:18, beating a screened Shesterkin from the high slot. Vegas is 5-for-9 on the man-advantage over its past three games.

Late Challenge and Tight Finish

The Rangers appeared to make it 3–2 with 7:18 left, but Vegas challenged the entry for offside. The call was reversed after review. Head coach Bruce Cassidy said the bench reacted “right away” and confirmed it with video.

Trocheck did score at 17:17 with the extra attacker, but Vegas held the line in the final minute to secure the win.
