Boxing’s unpredictable exhibition era just got even wilder. Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr., two of the sport’s most iconic champions, have agreed to terms for a blockbuster exhibition fight set for spring 2026.

The news comes just two weeks after Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul were confirmed for a November 2025 exhibition, signaling yet another high-profile crossover event designed to captivate both traditional fight fans and a broader global audience.

Contracts Signed, Details Pending

According to TMZ Sports’ Michael Babock, both fighters have signed contracts, though no official date or venue has yet been announced.

“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen,” Tyson said. “Boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable. This fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed, and it’s happening.”

Legends on Different Paths

  • Mike Tyson (50-7, 44 KOs): Retired in 2005 but has remained active in exhibitions. He fought Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 and more recently lost a sanctioned eight-round decision to Jake Paul in November 2024. Tyson, now 59, weighed 228.5 pounds for his last fight.

  • Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs): Retired in 2017 after stopping Conor McGregor to cap his perfect career. Since then, the 48-year-old has engaged in exhibitions against various opponents, including John Gotti III in 2024. Mayweather last fought around 160 pounds.

The size gap is stark more than 60 pounds separates the two legends but neither fighter appears fazed by the mismatch.

A Clash of Eras

Tyson and Mayweather represent two distinct chapters in boxing history. Tyson, the “Baddest Man on the Planet,” dominated the heavyweight division in the late 1980s with ferocious power and unmatched intimidation. Mayweather, by contrast, built his legacy on defensive brilliance, tactical mastery, and an undefeated record across five weight classes.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said. “If I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
