After days of public speculation regarding whether Strickland would attend the historic UFC event at the White House. The outspoken champion made headlines Sunday when he unexpectedly appeared at UFC Fan Fest before being escorted from the premises by security and law enforcement.
The incident occurred at the UFC Fan Fest held at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C.. Just hours before UFC Freedom 250 took place on the South Lawn of the White House.
According to reports, Strickland arrived unannounced and jumped into a ring area where fans immediately swarmed around him.
Videos quickly circulated online showing the former champion surrounded by excited spectators before security personnel and police officers moved in to remove him from the venue. The footage sparked immediate speculation that Strickland had been arrested.
No Arrest, No Charges Filed
Despite the dramatic scene, reports confirmed Monday that Strickland was never arrested and no criminal charges were filed. Instead, authorities briefly detained him while escorting him out of the event.
According to reports, officials acted primarily out of concern for crowd control and public safety after the gathering around Strickland became increasingly chaotic.
