The UNLV Lady Rebels continue to keep building a championship squad under coach Lindy La Rocque this offseason.
On Monday, coach La Rocque announced the addition of guard Sydni Summers for the 2025-26 basketball season.
“Sydni has been a familiar opponent and now we’re thrilled to welcome her to Rebel Nation,” said La Rocque. “She is a dynamic guard with a great handle and can stretch the floor with her shooting. She has a team-first mentality that will continue our championship culture on and off the court!”
Summers comes to the Lady Rebels from a Mountain West rival San Jose State Spartans.
Summers spent a total of two seasons with the Spartans. During her two seasons with the team, she averaged 8.9 points and 2.26 assists per game. She also racked up 52 steals in those two seasons.
In her freshman year, Summers was named Mountain West All-Freshman team and averaged 7.8 points per game.
Summers’ sophomore season was exponentially better. She averaged 9.9 points per game.
Hailing from Inglewood, California, Summers is the last piece to the Lady Rebels puzzle this offseason on their road to another regular season Mountain West Conference championship.
Coach La Rocque hopes to excel further with this team to achieve an automatic bid the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
