WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson looks to lead the Las Vegas Aces to their third championship this upcoming WNBA season starting this May.

Last season, Wilson claimed her third consecutive WNBA MVP award after averaging a career-high 26.9 points per game.

This upcoming season, the Aces will have a new backcourt with the departure of Kelsey Plum and the addition former Seattle Storm star Jewell Loyd. Wilson said she is “super excited” to play with Loyd.

“Jewell is just a phenomenal person, and that’s what we love,” Wilson said in a report from Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Callie Fin in February. “We love good-character people in our locker rooms.”

A’ja Wilson is no stranger to uplifting her fellow players in the league and women’s sports in general.

In a recent interview with TOGETHXR, a digital platform for women’s sports, Wilson reiterated her thoughts on women’s empowerment.

“I’m gonna always bet on a woman when it comes to getting things done because that’s what we do best,” said Wilson.

As reported by Athlon Sports, A’ja Wilson’s commitment to not only her team but women’s empowerment hasn’t gone unnoticed by the legends of the WNBA, particularly Swin Cash.

Cash reposted Wilson’s comment on her Instagram story with a simple four-word message.

“I see you @aja22wilson,” wrote Cash, a three-time champion and four-time All-Star.

Like A’ja Wilson, Cash has been outspoken on a variety of social issues including gun violence and racism in the Unites States.

While playing for the New York Liberty in 2016, Cash was fined $500 by the WNBA for wearing a “Black Lives Matters” shirt during warm-ups.

Wilson has also used her platform to speak out against racism, sexism, hate, and harassment in the WNBA.

The Aces will be on the hunt for a third championship on May 17 against the New York Liberty.
