Vegas Golden Knights forward Keegan Kolesar signed a three-year extension with an average annual value of $2.5 million.

Kolesar has 11 points with seven goals and four assists, which is one goal shy of matching his career high. He is in his sixth season as a Golden Knight, after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in June 2017.

Since then, Kolesar has worked his way into a regular spot in the lineup, playing mostly on lines that require his north-south offensive game. But his biggest impact comes on the forecheck where he is a heavy player who can set the tone early in physical contest.

He has 1,001 hits in his career and is seventh in the NHL since coming into the league on Jan. 11, 2020.

He has played his entire career with Vegas (300 total games).

Throughout his career, he has 84 points (33 goals, 51 assists) for the Golden Knights. He is the third player this season to sign a contract extension with the Golden Knights, joining defensemen Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb.

Three takeaways from the Golden Knights’ 3-2 win over Jets
