Today is Friday, May 8, and one day remains until the Las Vegas Aces open the 2026 season. At Dice City Sports, we are counting down to opening tip as the defending champs chase a fourth championship in five years while we rank the top 14 players in franchise history.
A’ja Wilson
Wilson closes the countdown at No. 1, and there is no real debate. She is the greatest player in Aces franchise history and, when it is all said and done, she could have a case as the greatest player in WNBA history.
Across eight seasons with Las Vegas, Wilson has averaged 21.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 blocks in 267 games. She has won four MVP awards, three WNBA championships, three Defensive Player of the Year awards and two Finals MVP awards.
Her impact started immediately. Wilson was the No. 1 overall pick in 2018, won Rookie of the Year and averaged 20.7 points and 8.0 rebounds. By 2020, she was the league MVP. By 2022, she had led the Aces to their first championship.
Then she kept climbing. Wilson won MVP again in 2022, repeated as Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and delivered a historic 2024 season with 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. In 2025, she added another MVP and Defensive Player of the Year season while helping Las Vegas win another title.
Why she ranks here
Wilson ranks No. 1 because she is the franchise’s defining player. Her 5,719 points, 2,494 rebounds, 533 blocks, 54.5 win shares, four MVPs and three championships separate her from every other player in team history.
Background
Wilson was born Aug. 8, 1996, in Columbia, S.C. She starred at South Carolina and attended Heathwood Hall Episcopal in Columbia, S.C. The Las Vegas Aces selected her with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
Career check
In 267 WNBA games, Wilson has averaged 21.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 blocks while shooting 49.8% from the field, 36.5% from 3-point range and 82.1% from the free-throw line. She is a four-time MVP, seven-time All-Star, three-time WNBA champion, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time Finals MVP and 2018 Rookie of the Year.
The countdown ends here: A’ja Wilson is No. 1.
