The Las Vegas Raiders have parted ways with a defensive end who anchored their lineup for 18 starts over the last two seasons. This move is sure to spark discussion among football fans and analysts alike.
Among the four players waived on Saturday was Charles Snowden, making way for a fresh group of signings that features a hometown star from Las Vegas High School. In football circles, such roster updates always draw interest from the community.
Over the past two seasons, Snowden took the field in 31 games, racking up 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks, solidifying his presence in football with consistent effort.
Snowden’s standout moment came with a clutch fourth-down sack of Cleveland’s Deshaun Watson, sealing a 20-16 victory for the Raiders in 2024. He later notched his only career interception, again against Cleveland, in 2025. Football highlights like these are remembered by fans.
The Raiders also cleared roster space by waiving offensive linemen McClendon Curtis and Layden Robinson, as well as tight end Matt Lauter.
Among the new arrivals is safety Devyn Perkins, a Las Vegas native who shined for the Wildcats before making his mark at Utah Tech and briefly at Southern Utah.
Last season, Perkins delivered 35 tackles, two interceptions, and a sack for the Trailblazers in his senior year.
Both Perkins and offensive tackle Niklas Henning from Queens in Canada earned their spots with the Raiders after impressive showings at rookie mini-camp tryouts on Saturday.
Former Cincinnati tight end Patrick Gurd and former UTSA offensive lineman Kamar Missouri also signed.
