With new head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith in town, the Las Vegas Raiders are hoping to engineer a quick turnaround.
In order to accomplish this goal, the Raiders must add pieces to help out their new man under center. Brock Bowers already has an argument for being the best tight end in the league, and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL right now. That said, the receiving room lacks consistent options outside of those two, which should prompt the Raiders to try and keep the pressure off.
That mentality could cause the Raiders to aim for a full-circle moment, supporting the present while embracing the past.
Former Raiders receiver Hunter Renfrow is making a comeback bid.
According to Ian Rapoport, Renfrow is meeting with his former team on Friday, while he also met with his home-state Carolina Panthers on Wednesday.
Comeback? Former #Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow, who did not play football last year but is still just 29-years-old, is visiting his old team the #Raiders today, per me and @TomPelissero.

Despite retirement rumors swirling around him earlier this offseason, a return to the NFL feels closer than ever for Renfrow after these two visits.
A fifth-round pick of the Raiders in 2019, Renfrow earned the adoration of fans with his breakout 2021 season, catching 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. The heroic effort pushed the Raiders to the playoffs that season despite serious off-field drama with the team. However, injuries and a drop-off in production lead to his release in 2024, and Renfrow was out of football entirely this past season.
While it is unclear if Renfrow will resume his NFL career with the team he started it with, his skillset and experience with the organization and city are clearly of interest to the new regime.
