With most of the coaching staff filled out, the Las Vegas Raiders are preparing to shift their attention towards the construction of their roster.
First and foremost, the question surrounding the Raiders in 2025 is what their quarterback room will look like.
Gardner Minshew II, Aidan O’Connell and Carter Bradley are all under contract for the upcoming season, but it is likely that the Raiders will seek to make sweeping changes.
Fortunately, the Raiders have the best to ever play the position in their corner in minority owner Tom Brady, and his input will be instrumental in the decision the team makes at the position.
When Brady was on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Friday, he had a discussion with the host on how he was able to manage the pressure of the game’s most important position on the biggest stage.
“In my last Super Bowl I was a part of, it was two weeks of watching film… I knew Kansas City’s defense better than they knew themselves. I knew their body movements, the way their linebackers moved, the way their safeties moved,” Brady told Cowherd.
“When you lose this game, it’s on your resume forever. A loss in the Super Bowl matters more than any loss you’re ever going to be a part of.”

While the discussion seems fairly innocuous on the surface, having Brady reveal this insight on how he played the game could indicate what traits he is looking for at the position.
Athleticism and arm strength are the current trends in the scouting community, but Brady might see an opportunity to zig when the rest of the league zags. Brady was second to none in terms of work ethic and processing the game quickly and accurately, and he will likely be looking at the same for his future quarterback.
The Raiders have been linked to every top quarterback in the draft class. Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders are the top two options available, while Ole Miss’s Jaxson Dart, Ohio State’s Will Howard and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe make sense on Day 2.
How the Raiders tackle their roster situation over the next couple of months before the draft will hopefully shed some more light on the situation.
