Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez Plus The Raiders?

Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) and Canelo Alvarez  (62-2-2, 39 KOs) are finalizing a deal to fight on September 13th in Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium which is the home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

This fight has been in the making for some time now and finally the two have come to an agreement. Crawford will step up two weight classes to challenge for Alvarez WBC, WBA and WBO Super middleweight belts. There will be no catchweight or rehydration clause which is a little surprising.

Alvarez has one task to complete before this fight can happen though. He will be fighting William Scull on May 3rd for the IBF belt that he had to vacate that was later claimed by Scull last May.

Both fighters are four division champions, a win by Crawford would make him a five division champion. Crawford will not take on a tune up fight and will just continue to build up his body to be as ready as possible as super middleweight. Terence Crawford isn’t really a busy fighter. He tends to fight only once a year. He hasn’t fought multiple times in a calendar year since 2019. But it’s understandable that the top boxer at 154 pounds would want to make sure that he’s physically at his best for Canelo.

One more shinning moment

Up to date, Terence Crawford’s shining moment came in July of 2023 when he met Errol Spence Jr. in the right and absolutely demolished Spence. Since that fight Spence hasn’t been the same and has not returned back to the ring. A lot of boxing fans say that Spence will never be the same after that lost and they could very well be correct. Crawford is looking to have one more great night against the biggest challenge of his career in Canelo Alvarez. Stay tune as we’ll have more coverage on this story.
