The Las Vegas Raiders have signed free agent quarterback Nathan Peterman on Tuesday.
Entering his eighth NFL season, Peterman returns for a second go around with the Raiders, having played for them in four seasons from 2018-21. Peterman was most recently with New Orleans, signing with the Saints in March after spending the previous two years with the Chicago Bears.
Nathan Peterman has limited playing time throughout his eight seasons. He’s played in 15 career games with five starts over seven seasons, completing 85-of-160 pass attempts for 712 yards and four touchdowns. In two years with Chicago, he played in five games with one start. Totaling 139 yards and one touchdown on 14-of-25 passing. Signed to the Raiders practice space in December 2018, he spent four years with the Silver and back. Seeing action in two regular season games.

In a corresponding move, we have waived/injured WR Keelan Doss, who will revert to the Reserve/Injured list should he clear waivers. pic.twitter.com/InXK8p2mTP— Las Vegas Raiders (@Raiders) August 13, 2024
Originally selected by Buffalo in the fifth round (171st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh, Peterman played two years with the Bills and saw action in eight regular season games with four starts.
Peterman played his final two collegiate seasons at Pittsburgh after transferring from Tennessee. With the Panthers, he appeared in 26 games and completed 378-of-619 pass attempts for 5,142 yards and 47 touchdowns. In his final season at Pittsburgh, he captained the highest scoring offense in school history, totaling 532 points.
Insurance
Unquestionably you can never have too much depth when it comes to football. Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Mishew will be QB1 and QB2 but if injuries start to pill up then things will get interesting. Let’s send good vibes into the universe that the Raiders won’t have to deal with a abundance of injuries.
