The Golden Knights lost one Original Misfit to free agency, with Jonathan Marchessault signing a five-year contract with the Nashville Predators worth 5.5 million per season, according to Pierre LeBrun.

Marchessault, who was acquired by the Golden Knights in a trade during the expansion draft, owns many team records. He owns the team records for games played (514), goals (192), assists (225), and points (417). In 2022-23, the Knights won their first Stanley Cup, with Marchessault winning the Conn Smythe Trophy for scoring 13 goals and 25 points throughout the playoffs. He played all 82 games last season, scoring a career-high 42 goals, 27 assists, and 69 points, but it will be interesting to see how he performs on the Predators, who have signed Steven Stamkos and Brady Skjei to join Marchessault.

William Carrier, another Original Misfit, has signed with a new team this offseason, joining the Carolina Hurricanes on a six-year, $12 million deal.  Carrier was selected in the expansion draft by the Golden Knights after spending one season with the Buffalo Sabres. He then played seven years in Vegas with the Golden Knights as a fourth-liner, appearing in 372 games and scoring 53 goals and 99 points. Carrier was put on the LTIR this past season due to an upper-body injury, and he has missed 88 games over the last three seasons. He scored six goals and two assists in 39 games this season, including one goal in game six of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Dallas Stars.
