On Saturday, the Las Vegas Aces demolished the Puerto Rico national team winning in blowout fashion by a 52-point differential. This game took place in Columbia, South Carolina so the atmosphere was very nostalgic for star player, A’Ja Wilson.

Wilson appears very emotional after the outcome of this game performing as a professional for the first time in her hometown. Colonial Life Arena is also the home stadium for her alma mater, the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Blowout Victory
First quarter of this exhibition was not a clear indication of the final outcome in any shape or form. Las Vegas only led by ten points and leading the Aces was guard, Jackie Young with seven points.
In the second quarter is where the defense of Vegas began to overwhelm Puerto Rico as they did not score for almost five minutes of play. By halftime, the Aces now held a 36-point lead over them leaving miniscule opportunities for a competitive contest.
Shooters from each team felt great discrepancies with the rim as the Aces seemed to connect on many pullup jump shots while and Puerto Rico did not. Conclusion to this game ended with a blowout score of 102 to 50.

Game Box Score
Chelsea Gray did not participate in the contest which could lead to concern for the guard coming off of a foot injury last season. However, this did not affect the Aces as Wilson and Kelsey Plum combined for 48 points together.
Guard, Megan Gustafson was the third leading scorer of the night posting 17 points while also leading the team in three-point percentage. Gustafson sunk four out of her seven attempts equaling to a 57 three-point field goal percentage.
Rookie from Iowa, Kate Martin was also able to contribute not missing any shot sinking a three pointer and not missing a free throw.
