On Wednesday night, the UNLV Rebels men’s basketball team took on the Fresno State Bulldogs at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. The UNLV Rebels came away with a 67-65 road win.

“The guys battled and fought like crazy,” UNLV coach Kevin Kruger told reporters. “There’s a couple of times we could have hung our heads, but the guys didn’t.”
UNLV took the lead for good, 55-53, on a pair of free throws from Luis Rodriguez with 9:01 remaining and stretched it to a seven-point advantage with 6:36 left.
The Rebels had all five starters score in double figures. Rob Whaley Jr. led them with 17 points. Keylan Boone had 15 points, and Kaleb Boone had 12 points. Freshman Dedan Thomas Jr. had 11 points, and Rodriguez pitched with 10 points.

UNLV shot 54.5% from the field, and Fresno State shot 46.9%. Both teams struggled beyond the arc, with the Rebels shooting 12.5% and the Bulldogs 23.8%. UNLV outrebounded Fresno State 32-19.
