Curmel Moton’s rise continues. The 19-year-old phenom delivered another emphatic performance Saturday night (Feb. 28, 2026), stopping Wilfredo Flores in the second round at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. From the opening bell, Moton’s speed was overwhelming. The Floyd Mayweather protege wasted little time asserting control, snapping sharp combinations and dictating range with precision beyond his years.

By round two, the writing was on the wall. Moton trapped Flores in the corner and unleashed a relentless barrage. Flores absorbed heavy punishment and barely survived to the bell, but his corner made the smart call throwing in the towel before the third round began.

The result:

  • 9-0 record

  • 7 wins by KO/TKO

  • Another statement on a growing résumé

For Flores, it marked his third straight defeat, underscoring the mismatch once Moton found his rhythm.

The Mayweather Influence

As a highly touted prospect under the guidance of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Moton continues to show traits reminiscent of his mentor:

  • Composure under pressure

  • Elite hand speed

  • Defensive awareness

  • Surgical finishing instincts

Unlike many teenage prospects who are brought along slowly, Moton is accelerating and doing so with authority.

What’s Next?

At just 19, Curmel Moton is already performing like a seasoned contender. The question now becomes pacing: how quickly will his handlers increase the level of opposition?

If performances like this continue, it won’t be long before he transitions from “blue-chip prospect” to legitimate contender conversations.

One thing is clear: the spotlight is only getting brighter and Moton looks comfortable standing directly in it.
