Jackie Young plays for the Laces, who hold the best record in Unrivaled at 4-1. Young and Brittney Sykes have been the team’s top leaders, each averaging a little more than 20 points per game. Young took over in the Laces’ last game, scoring 30 points to earn her first Player of the Game honor this season.
Young erupted for 35 points and three rebounds while shooting 68.4 percent from the field, leading the Laces to a hard-fought 70-66 win against Rose on Jan. 18. Both teams entered the matchup tied for the league’s best record, but the Laces pulled ahead with the statement victory. The result made it clear there is a new powerhouse in town.
Young set a new career high, topping her previous best of 27 points that came in the 2025 season finale against the Mist. The outburst bumped her scoring average from 16.5 points per game to 20.2, and it also pushed her up to ninth in the league’s scoring race, just 0.2 points behind eighth place.
Coming off a 35-point performance while knocking off the reigning champions this early could be the spark Young and the Laces needed to separate from the pack. With her confidence climbing and her scoring numbers jumping from last season, Young has the Laces looking like a real problem for Chelsea Gray and Rose going forward.
