  • What: WNBA Regular Season Game
  • When: July 22, 2025
  • Who:   Atlanta Dream vs. Las Vegas Aces
  • Time:  7:00 p.m. PST
  • Where: T-Mobile Arena (Las Vegas, NV)

The WNBA is back from its All-Star break, with the 44-game regular season now at its midpoint. The Atlanta Dream will be without second-leading scorer Rhyne Howard for the rest of July due to a hyperextended knee.

Las Vegas enters as 1.5-point favorites, with a total of 161.5. On the money line, Atlanta is -105 and Las Vegas is -115.

After winning consecutive titles in 2022 and 2023, the Aces have had a mediocre season following the trade of Kelsey Plum. They started 5-7 but have since gone 6-4 in their last 10 games.

A’ja Wilson has been a standout, averaging 23.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. With Wilson on the court, the Aces outscore opponents by 4.9 points per 100 possessions, but are outscored by 15.1 when she’s off the floor.

A’ja Wilson appears fully recovered from her wrist injury and ready for a full workload tonight. Atlanta’s defense, led by Brittney Griner, is tough at the rim, but the Dream have struggled to defend shots from five to nine feet—Wilson’s specialty. She should remain effective offensively.

Las Vegas will need more from its supporting cast to offset Atlanta’s strong perimeter defense, which has excelled since Jordin Canada’s return.

Allisha Gray has been a defensive force, recently holding Sabrina Ionescu to 3-of-20 shooting. Meanwhile, Jewell Loyd and Chelsea Gray have struggled offensively in recent games, which could challenge the Aces.

Atlanta’s fourth-ranked offense will challenge the rest of the Aces’ defense, especially since no Las Vegas player besides Wilson has more than one defensive win share this season.

While Allisha Gray has struggled with efficiency lately, all five Atlanta starters average double figures. Te-Hina Paopao added 13 points off the bench in last week’s win over Chicago.

Gray should find it easier to score against a Las Vegas defense that, despite Wilson’s presence, allows the highest field goal percentages in the restricted and non-restricted paint, midrange, and corners.

Wilson’s efforts alone won’t be enough for the Aces.
